Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) national and provincial lawmakers on Monday held a meeting here with party president and former prime minister Ch Shujaat Hussain in the chair. Political and economic situation of the country came under discussion, in particular the reported differences of the party with ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the resignation of Punjab Mines and Minerals Minister Hafiz Ammar Yasir. The lawmakers expressed concerns over the ‘negative’ attitude of the PTI’s provincial and federal governments and briefed PML-Q President Ch Shujaat Hussain and Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi in this regard. The members expressed grave concern on the Sahiwal tragedy through a resolution and conveyed their sympathies to the bereaved family. They demanded that those responsible for the tragedy be given appropriate punishment so that such incidents do not happen in future. The meeting expressed concerns over mounting prices in the country and demanded that the government take immediate steps to provide relief to the people.
