RAWALPINDI: Clean drinking water has turned into an impossibility for the residents of Ward 5 and 10 located in Cantonment Board Chakala.
Dhok Jummah, Dhok Kalhur, Mubarak Lane, and Defence Road are among the worst affected ones in the deepening water crunch crisis.
A native living in Mubarak Lane informed that there is no water coming from water pipelines for the last one week. Another resident living in Dhok Jummah said that since the advent of the summer season, the water supply has been severed to the area, while public representatives are playing the role of glum spectators.
The residents are left at the mercy of water tanker mafia, who are overcharging the residents by selling them water at inflated rates.
The residents have appealed to station commander to take notice of the issue as the public representatives have always ignored these areas.
