On the directions of IGP Punjab Shoaib Dastgir, a series of crackdown is continued to maintain law and order, protect public lives and property, stop the narcotics and detain the criminals.
In this regard, DPO Okara Omar Saeed Malik said police teams are engaged for public service and security to maintain law and order and to improve public service delivery. He said pace of crackdown against proclaimed offenders, illegal weapons and narcotics has been boosted up. He briefed about the performance of last 20 days and said that Okara police has arrested 149 proclaimed offenders in last three weeks, among them 15 are of A category, whereas 134 are of B category and 81 judicial absconders have also been arrested.
Similarly, 85 FIRs have been lodged against illegal weapons holders and two riffles, 14 guns, three revolvers, 64 pistols, two Kalashnikovs and 310 bullets have been recovered. Taking action against drugs sellers, 131 cases have been registered after arresting the accused and 44.607 kg charas, 1634 bottle liquor and six running alcohol factories have been seized, whereas in crackdown against gamblers, eight cases were registered and amount of gambling was recovered from them.
By implementing the laws regarding National Action Plan, 13 cases regarding amplifier act, one case regarding sensitive installations and seven cases regarding temporary residence ordinance have been registered.
